Summary
In La Cenerentola, Gioachino Rossini reimagines the Cinderella story without magic, focusing instead on wit and virtue. Angelina (Cenerentola), a kind-hearted young woman mistreated by her stepfather and stepsisters, captures the heart of Prince Ramiro—who disguises himself as a servant to find a bride who loves him for who he is. Through clever twists, disguises, and heartfelt sincerity, Angelina’s goodness is ultimately rewarded, culminating in forgiveness rather than revenge.
